6-12 people, depending on size of balls

Preparation: 10 minutes + soaking time

Easy to make and a great source of calcium and magnesium.


  • 1/2-1 cup of dates (soaked overnight)
  • 1/2 a cup of tahini
  • 1 cup of almond meal
  • 1 cup of carob powder
  • 2 teaspoons of dessicated coconut


  1. Stone dates, squeeze out excess moisture.
  2. Sift almond meal and carob powder.
  3. Mix all ingredients together.
  4. Roll into balls.
  5. Refrigerate 1hr to set.


    1. Add sultanas or dried organic chopped apricot for texture and flavour.
    2. Roll the balls in sesame seeds.
    3. Use hazelnut meal for a really chocolaty flavour.
